Saskatoon Co-op and Secret Santa Foundation
Saskatoon Co-op is a proud Title Sponsor of the Secret Santa Foundation!
It all began with Saskatoon radio personality Denny Carr, nearly 40 years ago, and his belief that every child should experience the magic of the holidays, regardless of their socio-economic background. In honour of his life work, in 2000, the Secret Santa Foundation was formed to ensure that “every child receives a toy at Christmas”. Each year, Secret Santa works tirelessly to assemble and deliver toy bags and food hampers to families with children 12 years of age and younger.
Saskatoon Co-op has been a long-standing partner with Secret Santa Foundation for nearly 30 years. Each year Saskatoon Co-op food stores in Warman, Martensville, and Saskatoon collect new, unwrapped toy donations for Secret Santa. Team Members also volunteer to help build the food hampers each year, coming together to build 800 hampers in under one hour. Over the years Secret Santa has touched the lives of over 100,000 children and supported more than 55,000 families in Saskatoon.
Like other Co-ops across Western Canada, supporting the community is a core value at Saskatoon Co-op and we recognize and support all of the continued work that Secret Santa Foundation does to uplift and brighten the Saskatoon and area community each year.
