Cardlock Credit Limit Check
January 22, 2026

Starting February 23, 2026, the Co-op Retailing System is introducing real-time credit checks at every Co-op Cardlock site in the CRS network. All Local Co-ops and FCL cardlock accounts will now undergo an instant credit limit verification before a transaction starts, and during fueling. Once your credit limit is reached, the pump will either refuse to start or stop dispensing fuel mid-transaction. To avoid disruption, we need to ensure that your current credit limit matches your typical usage and fits comfortably within your budget.

How Does Credit Limit Work?

There is one single credit limit for ALL Co-op purchases. Every charge, whether it’s at a cardlock site, bulk fuel delivery, home centre, farm supply or any other Saskatoon Co-op location, draws from the same account limit. Purchases from other commodities will affect your balance available for fueling.

Is your credit limit lower than your monthly charges? Let’s work together to adjust it so you can keep fueling without interruption.

What is the Next Step?

The next step is to request a credit limit increase by visiting our website
www.saskatoonco-op.crs/sites/saskatoon/membership/detail/credit and completing an updated credit application. Select “cardlock and credit limit increase” on the application. We recommend that your new credit limit should be about twice your usual monthly expenses. Once you press submit the application will be automatically sent to the credit department for evaluation. Don’t delay! Real-time credit checks begin February 23.

Important Reminders

  • New limits will reflect realistic usage. There needs to be justification for the new limit.
  • If you opt not to apply for an increase, your limit will remain the same.
  • Payments may take up to three business days to post to your account. Note: Making a payment in real time won’t immediately restore available credit. Mailed payments may take longer depending on Canada Post. Ask us about electronic payments.
  • You may need to make payments more often to keep your limit available.

Questions or Need Help?

Thank you for acting promptly as it is the best way to ensure you stay fueled up without interruption. We appreciate your business and look forward to service you for years to come.
